In the heart of the Appalachians, Rayons de Miel raises thousands of queen bees each year for Quebec beekeepers. Behind this specialized company is Maggie Lamothe Boudreau , a passionate beekeeper, committed entrepreneur, and pioneer in the selection of high-quality queens.
Maggie began her journey in the beekeeping industry in 2011. She quickly came face to face with the reality that the chronic shortage of quality queens was limiting beekeepers' ability to grow and maintain healthy hives. She then decided to invest her body and soul in breeding resilient, productive, and gentle queens , the result of rigorous selection.
Guided by her passion for bees and her desire to support her fellow beekeepers, over the years she has developed a breeding program renowned for its consistency, rigor, and long-term vision. Today, she participates and sits on several strategic committees, including that of the Quebec Beekeeping Research Center (CRSAD), actively contributing to the development of genetics adapted to our climatic realities.
At Rayons de Miel, each queen bee raised is the result of precise know-how, a healthy environment, and an unwavering desire to contribute to food autonomy and the beekeeping vitality of our province and country.
